So sorry for not posting anything for more than 2 weeks. I'm very busy working on a big project that I'm going to tell you when the time is right.
For 3 weeks, starting from today (17.11-08.12) there will be a 50% sale on the SS2009, AW2008 and SS2008 collections. After this period, the collections will be sold in Paris and other boutiques in France. I shall give the addresses as soon as get them.

Corina Vladescu SS2010 collection @ Rendez Vous Paris- Jeu de Paume Oct.2009

Dear friends and readers, one of the great news I was talking about in the PARIS PARIS PARIS post is about to be revealed as it is done. While at Who's Next salon my collection has been spotted by the owners of famous concept store Surface 2 Air Paris who select the collections for the prestigios showcase Rendez- Vous Paris Femmes, which takes place during Paris Fashion week in Jardin de Tuileries and is famous for its harsh selection and valuable designers taking part at it.
" Rendez- Vous, the premiere international contemporary fashion tradeshow conceived and produced by noted design collective Surface To Air Paris, was established as the leading showcase for designers and brands who are at the forefront of contemporary fashion. "
Fashion designers at Rendez Vous since 2004 include: Richard Nicoll,Alexandre Herchovith, Emma Cook, Peter Pilotto, Osman Yousefzada, Cathy Pill, Blaak, Marjan Pejoski, Sandrina Fasoli,Alice McCall, Tatty devine, Karen Walker, Antipodium, etc.
Returning from Paris in September, I received a mail quoting " You were one of the collections that we spotted that would be an excellent addition to our event Rendez Vous in October " and got the personal code which allowed me to register for the show.
So, we were there and it was a real success and I am so thriled that I've got such good reviews on my SS 2010 collection. While there I also took some A/W 2009/10 catalogues and I am happy that some buyers appreciated it so much that they've ordered from it as well though they had already made their winter budget. The most important moment for me was when one of Vogue's UK editors came made some photos and said she loved the collection and is impressed by both SS 2010 and previous AW 2009/10. Then there was l' Officiel Russia and another big magazine but I'm not yet revealing it.
I've made hundreds of photos and i shall be back with more in the following posts

While flipping through my fav blogs I came across this photo taken by the Sartorialist at London fashion week and spotted two of my friends Agata and Diana front row and Agata, left, is wearing a Corina Vladescu coral silk dress SS 2009.
I love this picture so much because of the colors that blend together almost like in a painting.

Sorry about not posting anything for such a long time, we've been very busy after Who's Next...and shame on me, I didn't manage to post the AW 2009/2010 collection. But in a couple of days I shall do so!

We've been overwhelmed by the feedback we received from the press, buyers, visitors and the way my collection was welcomed.
I have some wonderful news, but I'm not going to share them with you untill things really happens.

Costume assistant @ Madonna

It is such a bad news for everyone who asked me to post everything about this experience that I am not going to be able to do that (writing nor photos), owing to the contract of confidentiality I have signed with Madonna's management. Though I would have loved to share all with you I cannot blame them for the strict clauses in the contract because I was the only romanian assistant in their team and had full access to all areas - dressing rooms, wardrobe, restaurant and stage. I mingled, lunched and dinned with her staff, her band, her dancers, her daughters Lourdes & Mercy James.
Seeing Madonna and the show from backstage was so impressive...and please do not listen to people who say she did playback it is just mean empty comments that frustrated no-life people like to make. M. rehearsed all the concert before (2h- she always does that) and then got onstage and performed LIVE while dancing for another 2 hours. I was stunned by her strenght. Her dancers are so cool and laidback and we got along wonders. I am so sorry I cannot say more and in details but I hope you understand and agree with my decision.
Anyway, if it was needed to say more- I was blown away!

I shall be Madonna's costume asistant for her Bucharest concert!!!

Now, I am still up to my ears in prepairing for Paris but this news has literally BLOWN ME and I just had to share it with you.....Romanian representatives of Madonna's concert asked me to be costume assistant for the show!!! Can you believe that? Like, what are the chances to have this kind of experience and what this means for the evolving of a fashion designer? I am thrilled to take part in such a project and I plan to make the most of it. Madonna is one of the most important icons of our time both in look and music and the chance to see everything from the closed doors is once in a lifetime. Can't wait to share all the experience with you afterwards.

Shooting the AW09/10 catalogue

Tommorow is the shooting day for my AW09/10 catalogue.
Starting from 5AM, that means we'll sleep only for 2 hours. Or we can go to sleep at 7PM "odata cu gainili".
The team will the same as for SS09 catalogue, the location will be different, instead of the studio we chose an open air that's looking like this

Nova Rock part 2

Nova Rock and Wien through the lens of my friend Ioana Paravan. I find delightful the how two completely different perspectives: the festival vibe and the town's vibe, both in fashion and attitude resemble so much in terms of character, people are beautiful, polite and friendly whether punks, rockers, ravers or fashionistas and they all comunicate sans bitterness.

Nova Rock part 1

It was a true challenge to browse through the hundreds of photos we al have taken at Nova Rock and chose the ones that I think are the most representative. And the following are just a part 1 . My dears,
I am super happy and thrilled to have finally finished packing for leaving tommorow first thing in the morning for nova rock festival. It is already really really late but didn't wanted to leave without telling you why I won't be posting anything the following week. This is one of my favourite time during summer and I am always looking forward for it to come. I have also bought a lovely new tent and sleeping bag with the occasion and can't wait to try them out. AHhhhhhhhh I can't hardly wait...anyways it is so late and I am driving tommorow so, good night everybody and see you soon.

My style in Viva mag june 2009

In its june issue, Viva magazine has featured my style on a spread together with an interview and some lifestyle questions. As now the magazine is already on sale I can post the spread and some photos that they've made at my workshop with some of my favourites clothes at the moment. I am so happy the way it turned out...

Shooting in the woods

In May I had to do some new press photos of myself and I decided do them in Snagov. Me and Cornel( Lazia- the photographer ) thought it would be sunny and warm but instead the weather was rather moody with lots of light showers and chilly towards the afternoon when we had planned our shooting.
So, this is what we've managed...

Blooming

A light tan, a beautiful ovoidal crisp white dress with cutouts paired with jeans, a sequined jacket and ballerina flats- lazy summer evening.

Party season

This spring was definitely packed with events. First it was the Radisson SAS Bucharest lavish event held by Parliament. And this was insane, all guests, 300 as I was told, got invited to a 36 hours all inclusive stay at the hotel. This meant, spa, pool, meals and party. The hotel was full of people from all artistic fields and surprisingly that didn't mean stiffed at all. Everybody relaxed and had a blast as the party continued in the beautiful indoor garden until dawn. Well, for me and a couple of friends this meant leaving the hotel at 4 a.m for a little bit of headbanging at an underground rock disco and afterwards returning in one room for a burger from roomservice for which we had to wait for 2 hours. I am really proud to say that this huge event was organized by our beautiful campaign model Silvia Giurca who works for a major advertising agency in Bucharest and has done a great job taking care of each and every guest and making sure everything works perfect.
As for the gown, I decided to go for the long aquarelle silk dress from my S/S 08 collection and didn't put on any high heels ( that's why I look so tiny in the picture :) ), paired with a pair of strappy green jeweled flat sandals.




Last thursday was the Viva magazine party I've told you about which was held at the Diplomatic Club Bucharest and gathered most of showbizz and designers in a beautiful garden. We were served with chilled Cosmopolitans and tasty finger food followed by a mouthwatering mousse de chocolat with fresh fruits and socialized until midnight.
Ioana Mitu ( pictured with photographer Cornel Lazia ), journalist at The Financial Paper Bucharest chose to wear the red Carrie dress with a metal sequined padded shoulder blazer, both from my S/S 09 line and I wore the Blush dress in powdered pink also from the S/S 09 line.

And because I haven't been posting for some time there are some fresh pieces I hadn't had the opportunity to show you and here they are.






As you can see there are some sorbet colors which popped by just to emphasize our summer glow and the juicy Stella jumpsuit just got a sparkling sister with the fanciest trousers.
Stella jumpsuit can also be seen red carpet at the 2009 VIVA Magazine 10 years anniversary party which was held at a The Diplomatic Club Bucharest on beautiful Miruna Micsan - image editor Viva Mag. The location was a green garden beautifully arranged. No need to worry I shall present more of this event in another post...

New Showroom New perspectives

Hello my dearest so sorry I didn't make it to writing for some time now but I have a solid reason for that believe me. The thing is I've moved with my workshop and showroom to a friendlier neighbourhood near Herastrau park and for the last couple of weeks I've been in a frenzy of packing and unpacking and it has been killer. Moreover I had no internet connection until now so my reasons are stable enough.
So, as I was saying I've moved downtown in sector 1 at a lovely villa with a private little garden where there shall take place a lot of surprises in the near future.
The new address is 39, Herastrau Street Sector 1 Bucharest and you are all welcomed to a brand new shopping destination once everything is ready for you. There are still some things to solve and a garden to design so I shall invite you all at the official oppening soon enough.

A FABULOUS NEWS

I am so sorry I couldn't manage to write for a while now but once I spread u the fantastic news you will totally understand.
Ok, so the thing is I have been invited to the OXFORD FASHION WEEK 3rd of May - 8th of May 2009 this major fashion event and I have been super super busy to create some pieces for the show.
"An intellectual fashion...a new fashion event hopes to change all. Oxford Fashio Week will take place this MAy from 3 to 8 of the month hosting a range of events which bring the best of European fashion to Oxford." VOGUE
The invitation caught me by such a surprise... and I was happy to hear that Andreea Esca had the kindness to recommend me to the organiers giving the fact that I only met her once at a party but I used to exhibit my clothes in the first concept store in Bucharest Melkior which she owned, so , the content I felt was even greater. After she recommended me the organisers had a preselection of the designers and I was chosen to take part in the fashion week at the CONCEPT SHOW DAY ( 05.05.2009 ).
" Step in the surreal theatre of the most avantgarde creations in fashion ". Featuring a line-up of the hottest new names to watch- spanning students, fashion mavericks and established names...incredible fashion.

You can all imagine the excitement I felt only at the thought of presenting my designs next to Marithe et Francois Girbaud and others of such. In the festival will also present huge names such as Alexander Mc Queen.
I have been busy as a bee these past three weeks working day and night for some breathtaking new pieces for the show ( photos as sonn as I get them from catwalk ). I don't want to reveal much but I can tell you that all the team, me and the artisanes had no rest during this time and I designed one jacket which took alone 2 weeks of non-stop working. It is a three dimensional arhitectural piece which is the apple of my eye ( my soul piece ) and even now thinking of it it touches me. Can't wait to see the photos myself as the timing was so thight that when the curier arrived to pick them up I had to kindly ask him to wait a little longer in time for the girls to iron them in shape one last time.
Hope I can manage to get there as well as I started looking for some good accomodation offers and plane tickets by now.
I am thrilled to experience and aspire everything and come back full of inspiration and stories to tell you.

New logo

Hey everybody!
As you may have noticed, I started my fashion designer career under the "circuit bored" brand, registered as a trademark since my student days.
Starting with my SS2009 collection, I decided that all my fashion designs collections will be produced under my signature as "Corina Vladescu" brand because I want to make things even more personal and signed by my real name. As for "circuit bored" I will design under it only urban fashion collections. As a tip, you'll find "circuit bored" clothes at Base Shop starting from May 2009.
Considering my decision, I wanted to have a logo to be proud of, and that took a longer time than I expected.
So take a look and tell me what you think of it, as I really love it now and find that it describes me and my brand's personaliy at best.

Saturday at Cafepedia and party at Rokolectiv

Saturday was fair day again at Cafepedia caffe. The room was rather beautiful, light flooding from the huge windows. I made a rather chessy setting on purpose with lots of memorabilia from the 80's, each piece being something that appeared during that era, as the clothes I brought were all 80's inspired.
Everybody who came by wanted to buy either the pony ( Princess Twinkle by her name ) or the cutout punk gloves so I had to keep an extra eye on my valuable possessions not to ruin the kitchy setting.


Clothes wise I chose to bring two rails but with 10 pieces each, as I like stuff when it is more airy, the colors on one rail were ranging from Monetesque blues , to sheer skin delicious nudes, crisp whites, watercolored prints and moonwashed jeans. The other rail brought color to the ensemble with raspberry pink, coral and fuchsia mingled with black and white textures.
Lots of people, models and actors, fellow designers and a pleasant all in all athmosphere though I had some horrible unconfortable shoes that tortured me throughout the 8 hour fair.







After all the buzz I met up with some friends and we went ahead to party at Rokolectiv a electro visual festival held in Bucharest each year. The location is a really cool restored patrimony building in Bucharest known as The Ark the old Bucharest Commodities Exchange and home to a multitude of creative milieus. We had a blast and end up partying really hard until 6 a.m banging our heads in an alternative rock club afterwards.

Let's talk about it...

On last Saturday as you probably know was Gaia Couture fair.
Unfortunatly for me,for a week now I've been held in bed wit fever and all that by a terrible flu that tortured me bit by bit. Fortunately enough, Ionut was pretty healthy and was able to successfuly replace me there otherwise I would have missed it for sure. In the meanwhile I was at home, bitting my nails and bored to death, swallowing antibiotics, soups, sirups, hot teas, pills and other magnificent and oh so fashionable stuff.As I am the total opposite of someone who enjoys some time off, me being always energetic and up to anything it was quite torturiong to spend 1 weeek in bed. The fun part is that now I've developed of small, crowded places full of people and whenever I hear a sneeze around fell the urge to run 100km away.
Anyways enough with me complaining about my flu, just wanted to keep u posted. Hope everyone is healthy and happy and enjoying the first buds of spring.
From what I heard from Ionut's stories the fair was nice and the setting that I've imagined I happily hear was appreciated.
If some of you were down there also don't abstain and write us your impression an the whole fair as I am so curious to hear more.

Articolul nu se adreseaza Alinei in special, ci tutoror celor care au citit postul si ii impartasesc opinia (sunt sigura ca sunt mai multi).
Am intlnit multi autosuficienti si elitisti care o ard infatuat si se lamentaza ca in jurul lor totul e murdar, urat si lumea e naspa. E usor sa fi martor, mai greu e sa incerci sa schimbi lucrurile, sa slefuiesti si sa educi un material brut.
Credeti ca foarte multe dintre style icon-urile si vedetele de la Hollywood pe care le admiram in reviste avut mereu un gust desavarsit (madonna lucra la o gogoserie, cat stil credeti ca avea..)?
Insa o armata de oameni inteligenti le-au vazut potentialul si le-au transformat intr-un reper mondial.
Ca sa fiu sincera, ma bucur de 10 ori mai mult cand vad ca o tipa adepta a stilului sexy romanesc este maleabila si deschisa la sfaturile unor profesionisti si accepta o schimbare a imaginii care pana atunci vindea in draci, decat atunci cand clienta X uber fashionista se imbraca de la mine. De ce? Deoarece este o realizare si am satisfactia ca am resusit sa schimb un om care parea pierdut vestimentar, chiar daca doar pentru un videoclip. Cu atat mai mult cu cat aceast videoclip va promova imaginea Romaniei in concursul international Eurovision, care, recunosc ca nu se afla printre preocuparile mele.
Eu consider si sper ca si voi dupa ce veti citi articolul, ca e mai constructiv sa ne oferim serviciile pentru o cauza buna decat sa refuzam sa ne asociem imaginea cu un low target.
In fond, EG este o voce buna (cu toate ca niciodata nu s-a incadrat printre preferintele mele), o persoana placuta si deschisa, si mai mult dacat atat este demn admirat pentru ce a realizat pe fortele proprii.
Penibil ar fi fost, si atunci i-as fi dat dreptate Alinei ca am dezamagit, daca EG ar fi venit la mine sa-mi ceara rochii cu volane si sclipici lungi de o palma si eu mi-as fi abandonat viziunea si filosofia, acceptand sa i le fac. Insa EG & Co imbraca in videoclip piese din colectia mea de Primavara-Vara 2009.
Din punctul meu de vedere, un public target este acela care iti imbratiseaza viziunea, iar el poate proveni din mai multe medii si paturi sociale (Hermes este purtat si de Kate Moss si de pitzipoancele bambuiste).
Si what about Pamela Anderson care este noua imagine Vivienne Westwood !!!
As vrea sa vad cum reactioneaza targetul lui Madam!

Elena Gheorghe had just finnished filming the clip for the "Balkan Girls", romanian song for the Moscow 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.

Our dear friend Miruna Micsan from the VIVA magazine had a wonderful ideea: in both February and March issues of the magazine, fashion designers from Romania were supposed to advert themselfs on a full page.
Featuring in the February issue were: Razvan Ciobanu, Adrian Oianu, Irina Marinescu, Carmen Secareanu, Kristina Dragomir and Cristian Samfira.
Featuring in the March issue were: Me-myself-and I, Oana Manolescu, Ami Lungu, Stephan Pelger, Wilhelmina Arz, Lena Criveanu and Rozalb de Mura.

The "maid" is Ioana Mitu, who wasn't angry to play the role because she is such a beautiful person and friend.

Spring Summer 09 showing at Gaia Boutique

As I've told you earlier this week, on Saturday we were part of the FreeLove Fair at Gaia Boutique. On this occasion was the first showing of my s/s 09 collection and as I wanted to keep pace with what we've done at each fair so far, we've imagined a special setting this time also.
We've gone head over hells so that the setting idea could materialize perfectly.The whole story was to recreate in our small exponant's place an artist's workshop, therefore, I've set myself to hand paint 4 meters of white cloth with the pattern I've used throughout the s/s 09 collection. Then, we've borrowed some tripods from our friend photographer Cornel Lazia in order to rise the cloth on Gaia's walls.
After we've settled that out we moved on to arraging the remained space: brushes in all sizes and shapes, watercolors, pastels, jars filled with paint, sketches, wine glasses were all spread on the white carped we've brought in a artistically messy layout.
After two hours of sweaty preparations we were finaly ready to welcome everybody into our world....

The fair reunited 16 designers and was in my oppinion the best fair organised in Romania so far.The downside is that for such a display of forces, there were so little people to come and the ones who did came are the ones that come everytime.
That shows me clearly that in Romania people are not yet acquainted ( or they just don't care ) with the designer's worlds and would much rather go to the malls on Saturday and spend lots of money on bad quality overpriced series clothes.
Anyways in time maybe togheter with these happenings the masses will get habituated with the concept of designer wear and shall appreciate the fact that they can get such clothes at such prices compared to foreign young designers.

P.S: As I received so many emails after these photos appeared on Facebook, YES, the multicolored coned shouldered silk jacket is my one of my latest creations and I must tell you I am absolutely in love with it so you know why I am going to wear it again and again.

Elle Mariaj Fair 09

Back as promised with some pictures from my stand at the Elle fair.
The overall impression of the fair is not necessarily a good one ( some of you might have read that beside designers there were some nightmareish gowns all covered in shiny stones) but I think that instead of commenting badly about the fair we should appreciate the organiser's ideea of inviting designers who do not make mass production wedding gowns, to express their vision of a bride.Moreover in my oppinion all the designers present at the fair had some radicaly different dresses than what one is used to find everywhere in Bucharest e.g CORSET + CRINOLINE !!! So outdated !
It doesn't matter that the regular customer was still fascinated by the horror dresses we find on lipscani, unirea etc, bad tasting, ugly fabrics lots of stones type of dresses, the point is we the designers were able to point out a different approach, and I believe that if people will see more of that they will begin to finally appreciate.
We cannot blame the organisers for mixing bad taste wedding ideeas with designers in a country where kitsch sells the best, they were trying to make profit, but we can appreciate that instead of having only that type of retailers( like others marriage fairs) they took a chance on designers.

Making of s/s 09 catalogue

I am very proud to present you in avanpremiere the making of our s/s 09 catalogue. A small preview of what's yet to come in February when the collection will be on sale on the blog and @ selected stores.
As all the crew is friends with each other, the athmosphere was electric and we had a huge fun, dancing around on the catchy music chosen by Sharky(the lights empowered and photographer's assistant)whose selection covered our most demanding tastes.
Gossiping, sipping coffees, laughing and trying out new make-ups from Bianca's ( B.Boeroiu- the make up artist) huge bag and asking for hairstyle tips from Mihaela ( M. Anghel- the hairstylist), listening to fabulous travelling experiences from our gourgeous, smart and fun model Silvia Giurca while getting some well founded remarks from Cornel ( C.Lazia- our dear friend photographer) who wanted us to stop acting silly and concentrate ( ;DDD- like we could stop laughing)...
Like posh people as we are we had such a posh meal- meals from mighty Mc Donalds- Mc Caviar, Mc Kir Royal, Mc Moet etc...
Overall though we've soacked our t-shirts out and worked some good 12 hours continuously we just didn't feel the passing of time as we had a blast...
Looking forward for a/w 09-10 everyone?

Din ciclul " Tu vorbesti serios?" partea 1

Voi face aceasta postare in romana pentru a putea inlesni exprimarea anumitor fraze specifice limbii romane si a descrie astfel intamplarea cat mai real.

Sunt anumite conjuncturi care daca te-ai gandi dinainte la ele ti s-ar parea imposibile si totusi sunt momente in viata nostra si in cariera cand ele apar si atunci abia daca stii cum sa reactionezi.
Va voi impartasi o situatie, ma rog, mai bine spus o conversatie suprarealista care m-a amuzat copios dar intr-o oarecare masura m-a facut sa imi pun anumite intrebari si sa reflectez la dificultatea crescuta cu care poti realiza ceva in Romania, unde totul este pus la zid si comentat pana se distruge inainte de a il ajuta sa creasca si a il indruma.
Astfel, eram expozant la targul organizat la Cafepedia pe 19 decembrie 2008 "Bazar de Craciun" si stateam de vorba cu o prietena designer de accesorii, cand a intrat o tipa in camera in care expuneam. Arata ingrijit, blugi si un tricou parca, nimic notabil dar nimic deranjant. S-a uitat la fiecare lucru in parte si ulterior s-a decis sa probeze vesta din poza alaturata. Pana aici totul a decurs sa spunem cat de cat normal desi imi pusese o tona de intrebari destule de ciudatele inainte, am crezut ca este doar mai curioasa si nu stie sa se exprime. Dar, aici vine partea incredibila...imbracata cu vesta se intoarce la mine cu o mana in sold si ma intreaba pe un ton agresiv cine este designerul acesteia. Cand i-am raspuns ca eu sunt a inceput sa ridice tonul si sa exclame: " Pai si tu esti designer??? Tu nu ai vazut ca vesta asta nu e bine? ( eu chiar imi puneam probleme ce o vrea sa zica, m-am lamurit imediat insa ) N-ai vazut si tu ca o parte e mai scurta decat alta si gulerul intr-o parte e intr-un fel si in alta altfel???" Cand desi amuzata de iesirea ei am incercat sa ii explic pe un ton calm ca asta era ideea designului, ca este o vesta asimetrica si deconstruita si i-am aratat o vesta pornita de la un tipar clasic pentru a o lamuri, atunci, chiar a luat-o razna si a inceput sa tipe " Eu am un bun gust desavarsit si sunt recunoscuta de toata lumea pentru el si nu imi spui tu mie cum trebuie sa fie o vesta!!!!" La asemenea doza de ignoranta si, cum sa ii zicem elegant...naivitate dusa la extrem, eu care nu prea sunt un om de putine cuvinte am considerat ca nu mai este necesara nici o replica si am urmarit-o cum arunca vesta de pe ea pe jos si se napusteste pe usa afara.
Intreabarea care se pune in urma ei, avand in vedere ca ea este una dintre cele cateva se astfel de personaje pe care am avut placerea sa le intanlesc de-a lungul timpului, insa categoric cea mai ingusta, este: De ce avem noi ca popor aceasta inclinatie catre prost gust si epatare? De ce nu invatam sa ne purtam intr-o societate contemporana care ar trebui sa se bazeze pe respect si comunicare? Si raspunsul l-am gasit cu parere de rau: Pentru ca nu vrem!!! Pentru ca in Romania fiecare este mai destept, smecher, bogat, bine imbracat, atotcunoscator,frumos,etc decat ceilalti si vrea neaparat sa spuna asta strivindu-i pe cei din jur, insultandu-i, vorbindu-i pe la spate,facand totul dupa capul lui.
Si sincer, va multumesc voua, o mana de oameni si celor de langa mine, ca ma inspirati in fiecare zi, intr-o tara in care OTV- ul este printre liderii de audienta iar toate nonvalorile devin staruri peste noapte, si ma motivati sa iau zilnic creionul si sa schitez noi si noi ideei pe care abia sa astept sa vi le arat pentru a va auzi opiniile voastre atat de constructive.

Catching up on lost time

Well Hello 2009! And hello everybody!
I know it has been such a long time since my last posting but believe me that where i've spent my holiday they had no wireless!!!I know- crazy!
Well, because I've received many emails from you( THANK YOU THANK YOU ) asking me what have i been up to lately and what have i wore with the holiday occasions...
I've posted some photos with the latest parties I've attended, the ones I've enjoyed the most biensur.

1.The first picture is from a party at Gaia Club which was so much fun- I must say that I haven't danced like that for some time. The dress code was Funeral chic, therefore my all black outfit which I thought about giving it a twist with the white pigeon. Hope you like it..
2.The second picture is from the launching of Esquire magazine in Romania@ Fratelli club- the pary was a bore and most guests were the usual crowd from this kind of night clubs: over tanned plumped lipped bimbos who scan everybody never smiling and scary nouveau riches who look like bodyguards who accompanied them.Thank God I was with some dearest friends of mine who made the night!
I was wearing a tan draped dress from my s/s 09 line and tattoo slevees which I so looovvee.
3,4,5,6. These pictures are from the Christmas Party we had at our friend K.Dragomir's showroom together with some friends.The party was relaxed and funny and I had a wonderful time dancing to Billy Idol and other 80's tunes which i adore. As you can see I chose to wear an item from my season special collection. That is definetly one of my personal favourites...

...As from the latest ...I've spent winter holidays snowboarding in Austria- I have got some quite shocking stories to tell you but shall do that this week( promise) as I've lost my phone cable and i am not able to descard some pictures together with it. But...Not to worry as soon as I get one I shall start writing everything.

Partying in style @ Ponystep sunday the 29 th of December

I'm late I'm late for a very important date...and here we are at famous decadent Ponystep parties after a hectic wandering around London day- obviously all pampered and ready to enjoy the show. Because, for those of you who aren't familiar with the concept, just sitting in a corner @ Ponystep can turn out to be an eye rewarding experience.
To clear things a little bit...Ponystep aka ex. Boombox same stuff different name is a name under which take place a series of secret( kind of )parties held in the fancy district of Shoreditch. Once you find it, getting in is quite a challenge as the doorpicker is quite pretentious. But do give it a try as it is truly worth your while.
The crowd is uber cool, ranging from designers( I spotted Gareth Pugh standing near me ), to supermodels of the likes of Agyness Deyn and other socialtees but olso fashion addicted ordinary people with a taste for extravagance.
Marios Schwab was supposed to be taking over the decks that night but some "technical difficulties" deprived us from what announced to be an explosive show.
Nevertheless the party was fun,but in a people watching way fun 'cause that's what everybody did actually. Quite an experience, though I actually prefer a less self controled and excesive trying party.
If any of you were there please share us your experience and your impressions.

Roisin in the dress I specially designed for her

This is definetly my dream come true...This is the dress I've especially designed for Roisin. I was listening to Overpowered while drawing the whole collection but this dress really felt like her,the colors, the fabric... so I've named it 'Roisin'.I offered it to her and when she told me she loved it and offered to try it on so I could see how it suited her I was overwhelmed with happines and gratitude.
As you can all see she is superb, gorgeous and I felt so proud and fulfilled.

I was so nervous before I met them but that feeling just vanished once I saw them. Everybody has been so nice and friendly with me and I felt really good and confortable.
Nevertheless the thing that made my heart bounce is that Roisin and the girls loved the jumpsuit i wore which was a design from my a/w 09 collection and wanted me to make the item for them. I felt so honoured that I could barely speak I couldn't believe that was actually hapenning especially beacause Roisin was the muse of my collection. She told me she loved it and that they've searched for jumpsuits like that and didn't find something thay liked anywhere and asked me if I could make some for their tour. I still pinch myself to make sure I haven't dreamt that.

I have just attended Roisin's concert at Polivalenta Arena in Bucharest two days ago. It is the third time I see her this year and I am blown away by her perfomance and appearance. She is such an inspiration and she gives you a great artistic vibe. Moreover I got to meet her after the concert(she was so kind to meet up with some fans after a 2 hours performance and she is the sweetest person)and was able to tell her she is such an inspiration for my work. She is lovely and fun and all her band was so nice and approachable. It was such a reward for me to finally meet her.
I have some more fantastic news about this but want to make the post perfect so i shall tell everything with pictures on monday.

The must haves

I am absolutely and helplessly in love with this fabric from our a/w 09 collection, it is a composed of three layers of paited silk and I own the "Roisin" dress and the "Carrie" skirt and can't seem to stop wearing them.
They are such versatile pieces and have a great wearing shape. I usually wear them with an unpretentious top and high heeled gladiators sandals.

About Corina Vladescu

Corina Vladescu’s designs have a gothic sensibility which traverses
all her creative world. Best known for her deconstructed and
ingeniously cut pieces, ranging from barely there translucent
dresses to crisp tailored jackets, the melancholy of the gothic
enhances the feminity and fragility of her clothes.
For such a young designer growing up in a postcomunist country,
Corina Vladescu has quite an interesting evolution.
Born in 1983 in Bucharest, Corina is a magna cum
laudae alumni of The National University Of Fine Arts and Design
Bucharest, the faculty of Fashion Design with a master degree
in Fashion.
While still a student she worked as a freelance designer under
her own brand circuit bored, successfuly selling her designs at
concept stores in Bucharest, working as a stylist for a popular
teenage serial at the national television, having a spectacular
coverage on Tv and in famous fashion magazines as Elle,
Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Viva amongst many others.
Her talent was soon to be recognized in 2007 when she was one
of the 30 finalists at the El Boton International contest which
thousands of participants worldwide.
In 2008, encouraged by the success she had in the college years
and with a diploma collection entirely bought, Corina moves
further and creates her signature brand Corina Vladescu.
2008 proved to be a groundbreaking year for Corina- launching
two very well received pret-a-porter womenswear collections,
making costumes for the National Opera of Bucharest, and
dressing multiple national singers, actresses and tv celebrities.
Furthermore she had the oportunity to design stage costumes
for Roisin Murphy’s band.
In May 2009, Corina was invited to present her collection at Oxford
Fashion Week among designers such as Alexander McQueen
and Marithe et Francois Girbaud.
Being offered the chance to be a costume assistent for Madonna
at her Bucharest concert has enriched Corina’s experience and
inspired her not only as a fashion designer, but also as a good
planner and manager.
In September 2009 she was the only romanian fashion designer accepted by the Fashion Comittee of Pret-a-Porter to showcase SS2010 collection at luxury salon Who's Next.
